Technology

The core of the DCS offering is a web-based platform that has been developed over a period of many years and has been used in a variety of asset deployment projects.  The Deployment Project Manager (DPM) is a web-based platform built on open, industrial-strength architecture (LAMP) and a flexible implementation methodology in many different installation initiatives.

Using the DPM platform which is hosted from a central, secure location, deployment specialists can work with the Client to develop an asset deployment plan and schedule.  Once the basic plan and schedule are in place, DPM can be used to monitor installation activities at multiple field locations and to enable many other project support functions:

  • Site Definition & Scheduling
  • Asset Definition & Management
  • Technician Assignment & Dispatch
  • Trouble Ticketing & Field Incident Support
  • Document & Photo Archival
  • Reporting & Project Analysis

Other related project activities can be performed within the DPM application, such as document distribution, the administration of online surveys, automated project alert emails, and other critical functions.

PDA-Enabled Application Interface

Specific portions of the DPM platform have been optimized as web applications, which can be accessed and used interactively by field technicians. Specifically, online surveys can be accessed, filled out, and submitted from common PDA platforms, including iPhone, Blackberry, Android, and others.

Additionally, field staff can use DPM’s PDA interface to fill out trouble tickets where field incidents

occur. In addition to ticket information, photos and other related log data can be

submitted via PDA devices to the central DPM server .

Email Interface

For other project support functions, the DPM supports an email interface that can be used by PDA devices to enter and upload data to the central location. By sending project support information to a dedicated email address, the DPM server will parse information such as project notes and photos and attach that information to specific sites within the DPM interface.  Project managers can then view that information for individual sites and include PDA data within the overall reporting architecture.
